“How you use your body affects the way you function.”

Spring has sprung along with daffodils, bluebells and the almost here, wisteria.

We are back in our gardens tidying up and planting flowers and soon, vegetables.

Here are some top tips helping you to get the jobs done but not gung ho, totally overdoing it and regretting having gotten carried away.

DO’s ✅

  1. Try doing simple warm up exercises/movements before you start. For example, shoulder rolls, a few light squats, jumping jacks and cross crawl exercises.

Also helpful is turning head side to side leading the movement with the eyes.

  1. During gardening, bending u to our knees but allowing you back to stay long (ie not bending at the waist).

  1. Use long handled tools

  1. Drinking water continuously helps your discs (between the vertebra in your spine) to stay plumped up and spongy.

  1. Remembering to breathe as you work.

  1. Pace yourself : tomorrow is another day.
